How to Scan a Small Wallet Photo

By ImgHeal · Updated

Capture a tiny print without confusing a larger file with more authentic facial detail.

Use the print rather than a screenshot

Locate the original wallet print and capture its complete edges. Compare a few supported optical scanner settings on the same region. A higher setting helps only when it resolves additional source detail; software enlargement alone does not reveal a more accurate face.

Check the eyes and print texture

View the captures at matched scale. Look for focus across the small face and for scanner patterns or sharpening halos. Disable unnecessary automatic effects if they obscure the difference between settings, and save the least processed useful capture.

Plan a modest output

Make a viewing copy at the size you actually need. For a large print, proof a crop first. Treat newly detailed eyelashes or teeth from AI as inferred information, and retain the tiny source scan beside the restored result.

Check before you finish

  • Compare optical captures at equal scale.
  • Proof a facial crop before enlarging.

Try a restoration on a copy of your photo

Keep the original scan. Upload a separate digital copy, review ImgHeal’s generated result, and decide whether it suits your needs.
