How to Fix a Photo That Rotates After Uploading
By ImgHeal · Updated
Compare the displayed orientation across the source file, browser, and downloaded result.
Inspect more than one viewer
Open the same file in a local viewer and the destination preview. Orientation can depend on metadata as well as the stored pixel arrangement. Record which version displays incorrectly before trying repeated rotations.
Export an explicit copy
In an editor, rotate the image to the intended view and export a new file. Keep the source unchanged. Reopen the export and check its dimensions; turning a landscape image upright normally exchanges its width and height.
Test the destination again
Upload the new export and inspect both the preview and downloaded result. If they disagree, keep a simple reproducible sample and report the behavior rather than repeatedly editing the master. Check front and back scans separately when their writing uses different orientations.
Check before you finish
- Compare local and destination displays.
- Reopen the rotated export before uploading.

Try a restoration on a copy of your photo
Keep the original scan. Upload a separate digital copy, review ImgHeal’s generated result, and decide whether it suits your needs.
