How to Review a Partly Hidden Face After Restoration

By ImgHeal · Updated

Check AI changes when a face is covered by a hat, hand, another person, or an object.

Identify what defines the person

Mark which facial boundaries are visible and which are genuinely hidden. An obstruction is part of the source, not damage that must always be removed.

Compare the edited portrait

If the edit keeps the obstruction, check that nearby eye, cheek, and hair details remain faithful. If it removes the obstruction, treat the newly exposed face as a creative reconstruction, because the covered pixels were never captured.

Choose a faithful version

For family records, prefer the version that preserves the original pose. Keep any imaginative unobstructed variant clearly labeled and separate from the documentary copy.

Check before you finish

  • Distinguish obstruction from damage.
  • Check visible facial boundaries.
  • Label an unobstructed face as creative.
