How to Check Eye Direction After AI Photo Restoration
By ImgHeal · Updated
Make sure a sharper pair of eyes still follows the source gaze and expression.
Identify what defines the person
Before editing, note where each pupil appears to point and whether glare, shadow, or damage hides one eye. Head angle and eyelid position matter as much as sharpness.
Compare the edited portrait
Compare source and result side by side. Look for pupils centered differently, mismatched catchlights, changed eyelids, or both eyes made identical. These small shifts can change an expression dramatically.
Choose a faithful version
Prefer the edit that preserves gaze, even if the eyes remain soft. When one eye is missing, label any reconstruction rather than treating it as recovered detail.
Check before you finish
- Compare pupil direction.
- Check eyelid shape and catchlights.
- Label a reconstructed eye.
