How to Review a Restored Baby Photograph

By ImgHeal · Updated

Protect the baby's expression and proportions when AI tries to add detail to a soft or faded portrait.

Identify what defines the person

Baby photographs often contain soft focus, smooth skin, and partially closed eyes. Record the pose, head shape, mouth position, and visible hair before treating softness as damage.

Compare the edited portrait

Inspect whether the result adds adult-like eyelashes, teeth, sharp nostrils, or a different gaze. Check hands and blankets too, because generated folds can change the pose.

Choose a faithful version

A faithful soft result is more useful than a detailed but unfamiliar face. Ask a relative who knew the child to compare versions with the source and keep uncertainty in the archive note.

Check before you finish

  • Preserve the original expression.
  • Check for adult-like generated details.
  • Review hands and blankets as well as the face.
