How to Check a Restored Photo Before Ordering an Enlargement
By ImgHeal · Updated
Review crop, pixels, faces, reconstruction, and print settings before paying for a large print.
Define the finished object
Confirm the final dimensions and viewing distance, then calculate whether the file has enough pixels for the printer's recommended resolution. Enlarging cannot add authentic source detail.
Prepare a dedicated print file
Inspect the file at print size for faces, halos, repeated texture, dust, borders, and generated areas. Apply output sharpening only to a separate print copy when needed.
Check a proof before the final order
Use the lab preview to verify crop and orientation, and order a smaller proof or test section for an important enlargement. Keep the approved filename and order settings.
Check before you finish
- Confirm final size and pixel dimensions.
- Inspect generated areas at print size.
- Review the lab crop preview.
