How to Avoid Uploading the Wrong Photo Version
By ImgHeal · Updated
Use a clear upload folder and verify the selected image when a file picker shows similar thumbnails for sources, edits, and compressed copies.

Prepare a small selection folder
Copy only the intended working files into a clearly named folder. Use stable identifiers and readable version suffixes. Keep originals in their retained location. A crowded downloads folder can contain several nearly identical thumbnails, and sorting by modification date may surface an unrelated export instead of the best source.
Inspect the candidate before choosing
Open the file and check its dimensions, framing, and visible edits. If the picker truncates names, use its details view or another supported file-information control. Confirm the actual extension rather than relying on an icon. Do not select an image just because its thumbnail looks brighter or sharper than neighboring versions.
Verify the workflow preview
After selection, compare the displayed image with the intended source before starting processing. If the preview is too small, retain the selected filename in your notes. Check the downloaded result against that input. A reliable record of the upload version helps explain later differences without blaming restoration for edits already present in the chosen file.
Check before finishing
- The upload folder contains intended files only.
- Dimensions and version were checked.
- The selected input is recorded.
