Why Photo Colors Can Change After Export
By ImgHeal · Updated
Check profile handling and destination processing before editing colors again.
Compare the same file
Open the exact exported file in the editor and another viewer. Avoid comparing an unsaved editing preview with a different resized copy. Note whether the difference appears locally, after uploading, or only on another device.
Check the export settings
Review color-profile options in the application and the destination's requested color space. Embedding a profile and converting image values are different operations. Follow your editor's documentation rather than assigning a new profile at random to make one preview look right.
Use a controlled delivery test
Export a small representative copy with the intended settings and inspect it at the actual destination. Keep the master profile and editing notes. If only one viewer differs, investigate that viewing path before compensating with global color changes to the source.
Check before you finish
- Compare the exact same export.
- Check profile conversion rather than guessing.
