How to Review Trees, Water, and Sky After Restoration
By ImgHeal · Updated
Check natural textures for repetition, invented detail, and abrupt transitions.
Compare the broad scene
Start with the horizon, shore, and main tree silhouettes. Confirm that their shapes and positions still match the source. Detailed foliage can hide a changed coastline or a missing branch when viewed only as a small preview.
Inspect repaired texture
Look for repeated leaf clusters, smeared ripples, and patches of sky with different grain. Follow texture across damage boundaries. A repair should not introduce a stronger local contrast or sharper pattern than the surrounding photograph without a clear reason.
Choose an appropriate purpose
A creative display copy may tolerate more interpretation than a landscape used to document a place. Keep the source for geographical or historical review. Label reconstructed landmarks and avoid treating newly generated distant objects as verified features.
Check before you finish
- Compare silhouette and horizon first.
- Inspect repetitive texture across repair boundaries.
