How to Fit a Restored Photo to a Phone Wallpaper
By ImgHeal · Updated
Allow for screen shape and interface overlays without stretching the image.
Preview the screen shape
Phone wallpaper areas can be much taller than an old landscape photograph. Start with a duplicate and inspect the device's crop preview. Keep the original composition available instead of permanently cropping the only restored copy.
Leave space for interface elements
Check where the clock, notifications, and controls sit on the intended screen. Reposition the image or add a suitable background in an editor when a face would be covered. Do not enlarge a tiny face simply to fill all available space.
Verify on the phone
Inspect both lock and home screens if they use different layouts. Check whether the system adds zoom or shifts the crop. Keep a separately named wallpaper version so a later print request starts from the complete master rather than this device-specific derivative.
Check before you finish
- Account for clock and interface overlays.
- Keep the complete restored master.
