How to Organize a Batch of Family Photo Restorations
By ImgHeal
Track sources, edits, and review decisions across a larger collection.
Inventory before processing
Assign each source a unique identifier and record its condition. Group photographs by the task they need, such as capture improvement, scratch repair, or color interpretation. Keep fragile originals separate from the digital editing queue.
Test representative images
Try one portrait, one group scene, and one heavily damaged example before applying the same approach across the collection. Review the results individually. Success on a clear portrait does not establish that smaller faces or missing areas will behave the same way.
Track acceptance explicitly
Use a simple index with source filename, result filename, reviewer, and status. Mark items needing another capture or family identification. Export accepted copies into a separate delivery folder while keeping rejected trials out of the shared collection.
Before you finish
- Inventory files with stable identifiers.
- Test different damage types.
- Record acceptance and unresolved questions.
