How to Prepare One Still Frame from an Animated Image
By ImgHeal · Updated
Choose and verify the intended frame before using a still-photo workflow.
Identify the required moment
Review the animation in an application that exposes its frames. Decide which moment contains the clearest face or scene. A still-image converter may choose a frame automatically, so its preview is not proof that it selected your intended moment.
Export a deliberate still
Use a supported frame-export feature and save a separate PNG or JPEG as appropriate. Check transparency, background, and dimensions. Keep the animated source because a different frame may provide better evidence for a damaged or blurred region.
Review before restoration
Open the still independently and confirm it contains the selected moment. Compare any restored result with that exact source frame. Do not assume a still-photo restoration preserves motion or that a downloaded still contains the complete animation.
Check before you finish
- Select a specific source frame.
- Verify the exported still independently.
